I've been asked again and again about the cafes i went to in Bangkok.
so here you go...
THE TOP 3 MOST ULU NOT MAINSTREAM CAFES THAT I HAVE FOUND.
Puritan Cafe.
Location : Phaya Thai, Bangkok 10400, Thailand.
How to get there:
nearest train station : Since Puritan is located between BTS Ari & BTS Sanam Pao.. it's easier to take a cab from either of the stations.
For my case, I walked over from Victory Monument BTS and it was one of the most regretful thing i've ever did....
Review: Please bring mosquito repellent. Besides the stunning magical decoration and architecture of the place, the house is a mosquito breeding ground. Like literally.
But if you guys are interested in "magical castle" like atmosphere, then this is the place you should go. This place gives off a "harry potter / the series of Unfortunate event" feel.
How to get there: Alight at BTS Ratchathewi. The cafe is just right beside the train station.
Review:
If you are ordering the side dishes, don't order the fries. Their fries are pretty boring and tasteless.
If i were to choose between Puritan and B-story, B-story will be a better choice.
How to get there: Take BTS Chong Nonsi and walk into Silom Soi 7 street.
Review:
erm.... sorry but i'm not a fan of girly unicon stuff... so... it was a big no no for me.
The food.... i dont think you will enjoy the food unless you have a REALLY sweet tooth.
Drinks: order the Cotton Candy drink. sweet but taste way better than the other flavors.
so i got this damn awesome hair iron that makes my hair look fabulous. HAHA I'M SERIOUS.
Unfortunately , i got my perm done last year and it kinda died off and i wasn't ready to commit to another round of "damaging hair" perming sessions... so i've decided to try out the GlamPalm GP313 hair iron. GlamPalm hair iron allows me to do curly, straight or wavy hair so i never have to commit to a permanent style. And the best part is, after i ordered the styler, they took an extra mile to delivery the product to me RIGHT TO MY DOORSTEP on a particular timing that i requested ! which was also freaking awesome cos truthfully, i'm hardly at home and it's hard for me to order something online and not be able to meet with the delivery timing.
so YAY to awesome online shopping and deliveries!
So here is my BEAUTIFUL IRON. SOOO CLASSY RIGHT?!
their packaging was so nicely wrapped and packed. And its so easy to carry overseas.
They also provided me with hair clips for easier usage which magically hold the right amount of hair in place.
ok. the best 3 features that i loveeeee about this product is that.....
1) They use a special Ceramic coating which is infused with a secret mineral drawn from the south korean mountains. Their Ceramic coated plates protects your hair from the heat. They also have been scientifically proven to cause virtually no damage to your hair!
2) 3D swivel pivot cord ( i secretly hope iphone chargers have that for their wires. freaking brilliant idea)
i always have this issue when i'm using my normal styling iron, i get tangled up with the wires and its so frustrating . But GlamPalm's styling iron has a 3D swivel pivot cord that allows the endless
range of movement.
3) Safety Measures.
they have this build in sensor to prevent the product from overheating. so apparently, it shuts down after 30 mins if you are not using it. best feature for me since i always forget to turn off the switch.
They also have a meter to limit the heat transfer to prevent you from burning yourself ( WHICH I ALWAYS DO! )
Whats your hair length?
I'm currently using GP313 since my hair length is quite long. But if you have a short bob, GP201 will work great for you.

you know that part of you just want to stop everything you are doing , pack your bag and leave?
thats what i did.
i've decided to book a random air ticket to a random place i saw on pinterest and it was the most non regretful thing that i did.
Where does the broken hearted go?
Sagada is a beautiful place. its a place for healing. its a place where you can just come here to read a book.
When to go.
The best time to go is during November to February. Where the weather is really cool and dry.
12-14 degrees in the morning.
17-23 degrees in the afternoon.
How to get there from Manila
Getting there was tough as hell.
I took Coda Lines from Manila, Quezon City to Sagada. It costs me PHP 720 ($21.80) one way. The bus ride was freaking 13 hours so please be prepared. Best to bring your own Blankets and travel pillow as it might be freezing at night.
There's only 1 bus timing towards Sagada which its @ 9pm so its best if you reach the station around 8pm. The traffic there is really horrible btw. so plan your schedule in advance.
they also provide return trips from Sagada to Manila. The bus leaves Sagada at 3pm and arrives at Manila around 4am in the morning, which was apparently tougher for me as i have to look for a hostel / hotel/ motel in the middle of the night.
Where to go / What to do
1) Watch Sunrise at Kiltepan Viewpoint ( my favorite attraction)
15 mins drive from town.
Cost : php250( guide fee)
php500 (transport fee)
Have to wake up and leave town at 4 am in the morning in the freezing weather. please bring along a blanket.
2) Echo Valley (Hanging Coffins)
3) Sunset at Lake Danum ( quite boring)
20 mins drive from the town.
Cost : php250( guide fee)
php550 (transport fee)
4) Splunking in Sumaguing Cave / Lumiang Burial Cave
I went for the Cave Connection which took 4-5 hours crawling and rock climbing around the cave
Cost : php 800 for 2 pax (guide fee)
PLEASE DO NOT GO IN WITHOUT A GUDIE. YOU WILL DIE THERE.... I'VE SEEN THE HUMAN BONES..... it's pitch black inside and the rocks are fucking slippery. 10% possibility of losing balance and die. LOL.
Where to stay
I can assure you, looking for a place to stay in Sagada is difficult. As most of the locals in Sagada doesn't really use the internet, its hard to book a lodge from agoda. And those that are posted on agoda are fucking expensive.
The lodge that i was staying at is called Umatan Imatuba Lodge. You can either email or talk to them on Facebook. But they usually take 1 to 2 days to reply so best is to contact them earlier.
The houses each have their own unique character which is pretty interesting to me. Maybe one day, when i'm old and rich, i might come here to build a house for my retirement......haha.... maybe.......
This is my tour guide. learned alot from him. theres this amazing when you exchange life stories with the locals there.
How long to stay
i think staying 3 to 4 days is enough to see all the major sights and activities. i stayed for 4days 3 nights and it was more than enough.
How much to bring
ermm... i brought $400 sgd and it was enought :D
Things to Remember
1) dress warmly and buy the bus ticket in advance.
2) Bring cash ( no money changer there) Towels. Blanket
3) be back before sunset. very dangerous and dark
